5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. The teacher will present theoretical and practical contents, which will promote questions, discussions, and public expression of opinions to finally reach some conclusions both individually and in groups.

Whenever possible, active, participative and cooperative learning methodologies will be used, as well as problem based learning (PBL) methodologies.

5.2. Learning tasks

The course includes the following learning tasks: 

  • 1. Lectures (1 ECTS: 10h)
  • 2. Practical Activities (1 ECTS: 10h), such as: 2. Analysis of practical cases. 3. Finding information and cooperative work. 4. Reading articles or other documentes related to the course contents. 5. Students' oral presentations. 6. Viewing of audiovisual material. 7. Attendance to conferences and lectures related to the course contents (whenever possible during the teaching period). 8. Lectures by professionals linked to the course contents. 9. Visits to patient's relatives associations (when teachers consider it appropriate and feasible).

The course will address the following topics:

  1. Neuropathology and neuroimaging.
  2. Neuropsychology of perception, attention, memory and language.
  3. Neuropsychology of the frontal function.
  4. Neuropsychology of movement disorders.
  5. Neuropsychology in psychopathological disorders.
  6. Neuropsychology of child and adolescents.
  7. Neuropsychological assessment and report.
  8. Care for patients with acquired brain injury.
  9. Neuropsychological Rehabilitation.
